Mark A. Lange

Mark Alan Lange, 49, of Benton Harbor, went to be with his heavenly Father, Monday, June 12, 2006 at Lakeland Hospital in St. Joseph after a courageous year-long battle with cancer. A Celebration of Life Service will be held at 10:00 A.M., Wednesday, June 21, at Grace Evangelical Lutheran Church, 404 E. Glenlord Road, St. Joseph, with Rev. Carl Pagel officiating. Burial will follow at Riverview Cemetery in St. Joseph. Visitation with the family will be held an hour prior to the service at church. Memorials may be made to the family for his children’s educational fund. Kerley-Starks & Menchinger Family Funeral Home has been entrusted with the arrangements. Those wishing to share a memory or sign the guest book online may do so at www.starks-menchinger.com. Mark was born May 31, 1957 in Goshen, IN. He was one of four children of Robert & Sue Lange. He graduated from Warsaw, IN High School in 1975. On December 1, 1979 he married Melba Mc Carver in St. Joseph. Together they had three daughters, Kelly, Teri, & Molly. He was a longtime dedicated employee of Weil Mc Lain. As an avid fan of drag racing, Mark often raced with his own cars. Also he enjoyed being part of his daughter’s sporting events and traveling with their summer softball teams. He loved and cherished his family and his daughters very much. They in return loved and cherished him and will always have him in their hearts. Additionally he was a member of Grace Evangelical Lutheran Church. Mark is survived by his wife, Melba; three daughters, Kelly Marie, Teri Lynn, and Molly Ann; his mother, Sue Lange of Warsaw, Indiana; brother, Delmar (Lynn) Lange, of Stevensville; sisters, Diana (Cory) Hauck of Lake Havasu, AZ, and Linda Whipple of Benton Harbor; special aunt Alice Donovan of Warsaw, Indiana; and numerous cousins, aunts, & uncles. He was preceded in death by his father, Robert Lange, and special uncle Joseph Donovan.
