Donna Schott

Donna was born on August 30, 1923 in Volinia Twp., MI, the daughter of Dana and Eva (Hull) Gard. She was united in marriage to Daniel Phillip Schott in 1944 at Dowagiac, MI and he passed away in December of 1975. She then married Lloyd George Criffield in 1980 at Dowagiac, MI and he passed away in December of 1992. Donna worked with the husband at Schott Tool and Cutter Grinding in Dowagiac, MI. She was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Dowagiac and was an over 50 year member of the choir, chair member of the United Methodist Women, member of the Council on Aging for over 6 years and was in the Dance Club, she was the leader of The Frontier Band. She especially loved being with her family and dancing. Her family includes her children: Bruce Schott of Palm Springs, CA, Diane McCane of Nashville, TN and Karen (Mark) Dean of Nashville, TN; her sisters: Fran Moroz on Niles, MI, Nancy (Ed) Fester, Dowagiac, MI and Ruth McDonald of Dowagiac, MI and a brother Jim Gard of Marcellus, MI; many grandchildren and great grandchildren as well as several nieces and nephews. Donna passed away on August 29, 2013 at Borgress Lee Memorial Hospital, Dowagiac, MI. She is preceded by her parents, both of her husbands, one son Randy Schott and 2 brothers Jack and Kenneth Gard. Her family will gather with friends on Monday, September 2, 2013 from 6 to 8pm at Yazel-Clark Chapel, 405 Center St., Dowagiac, MI and Tuesday, September 3, 2013 at the First United Methodist Church, 326 N. Lowe St., Dowagiac, MI, from 10:00am until the time of service at 11:00am with Pastor David Price officiating. Burial will be at Mission Hills Memorial Gardens, Niles, MI.
