Thomas A. Crocker

Thomas ‘s life began on June 14, 1929 in Manchester, TN, the son of O.K. and Mary (Hathcock) Crocker. He was united in marriage to Ruth Arlene Gant on January 5, 1976 in Shelbyville, TN. He spent most of his life working in construction, did some custodial work and was a great carpet layer. He passed away on August 16, 2013 at his residence in Middlebury, IN. His loving family includes his loving wife of 37 years Ruth Arlene of Middlebury, IN, three sons; Thomas Crocker Jr. of Bristol, IN, Charles E. Crocker of McMinnville, TN, and Jeffery L. Crocker of Elkhart, IN, one daughter; Marcia Brown of Madison, TN, two step-sons; Richard L. Potter of Elkhart, IN and Dennis Potter of Jackson, MI, one step-daughter; Rosella Kiser of LaGrange, IN, several grandchildren and several great grandchildren, two sisters; Ossile Whitefield of Nashville, TN and Marie McDerry of Murfreesboro, TN, and one brother; Carlton Crocker of Woodbury, TN. He was preceded in death by his parents O.K. and Mary Crocker, one step-son Charles Potter, two sisters Dorothy Jones and Alvine McCough, and two brothers J.C. Crocker and Amos Crocker. He enjoyed animals, birds and especially his little dog “Snoopy”. He was a big joker and loved to do practical jokes. He also worked in the garden and always loved to be around his grandkids and great grandkids. Thomas’s visitation will be held on Tuesday, August 20, 2013, from 6 to 8pm at Yazel-Clark Chapel, 405 Center St., Dowagiac, MI, where a funeral service will be held Wednesday, August 21, 2013 at 1:00pm. Officiating will be Pastor Willie Collins. Burial will follow after the service at So. Wayne Cemetery, Dowagiac, MI. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the National Heart Foundation.
