Charles's Obituary

Charles W. Radde, 86, of Baroda, passed away Monday, May 22, 2006 at Lakeland Hospital-St. Joseph. A Celebration of Life Service will be held at 10:00 A.M. Friday at Trinity Lutheran Church of Glendora, 1733 Glendora Rd., Buchanan, with Rev. Thomas R. Brazinsky officiating. Burial will follow at Ruggles Cemetery in Baroda. Friends may call from 6-8:30 P.M. Thursday at Kerley-Starks & Menchinger Family Funeral Home, 2650 Niles Rd., St. Joseph. Mr. Radde was born November 19, 1919 in Benton Harbor to Charles F. & Bertha (Schlutt) Radde. He graduated from Baroda High School in 1939. On December 28, 1940 he married the former Maxine Brunke in Baroda. Charles operated a fruit farm in Baroda, which was started by his father. He also was employed by Whirlpool in St. Joseph as a millwright. He retired from Whirlpool in 1981 after 33 years. Charles was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church of Glendora, and the Baroda Senior Center. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, and tending to his flower & vegetable gardens. Charles is survived by two sons-Dennis (Monika) Radde of Baroda, Bruce (Barb) Radde of Stevensville; his daughter Shari Radde of Baroda; four grandchildren-Heidi (Brian) Gill, Dustin Radde, Heather (Jesse) Hunnell, Thomas Radde; six great-grandchildren; a brother Rolland (Arlene) Radde of Jackson, MI; and a sister Clara Belle Young of South Bend, IN. He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife Maxine on April 9, 1998, a brother Victor Radde, and a sister Virginia Potter.
