Carolyn's Obituary

Carolyn Sue Schutter, 44, of Dowagiac went to be with the Lord on Wednesday May 10, 2006 at Lakeland Hospital St. Joseph. Friends may call from 5:00 – 8:00 PM Friday at Kerley-Starks & Menchinger Family Funeral Home, 2650 Niles Road St. Joseph. A Celebration of Life Service will be held at 11:00 AM Saturday at the Christian Reformed Church of St. Joseph, 3275 Washington Ave, St. Joseph, officiating will be Dr. David Terhune and Pastor Thaddeus Stout. A family burial will take place on Monday at Mission Hill Cemetery in Niles. Memorials may be made for Carolyn’s children in care of her father Klaas Meyer or to Lory’s Place. Friends wishing to send a condolence may do so at the guestbook at www.starks-menchinger.com. Carolyn was born on August 7, 1961 in Lansing, Michigan to Klaas ‘Claude’ & Alice (Parker) Meyer. She married Ken Schutter on April 18, 1993 at the Volinia Baptist Church in Volinia, MI. She enjoyed gardening, cooking, and playing the piano. She was a member of the Edwardsburg Community Baptist Church and the Dowagiac Economic Development Board. She and her husband Ken were partners in Mr. K’s Wearhouse and Embroidery in Dowagiac. In addition to her husband Ken, Carolyn is survived by two sons – Cory Justin Schutter and Craig Charles Schutter, both at home; a step-son Jacob (Brenda) Schutter of Detroit; step-daughter Thaddeus (Rachel) Stout of Niles; five step-grandchilden;, her parents Klaas “Claude” & Alice Meyer of St. Joseph; brother Brain (Krista) Meyer of Watervliet; Sister Janet Schaefer of St. Joseph and her grandmother Laura Parker of Montague, MI
