Lisa Ann Forest

Our beloved Lisa Ann Forest, 42, of Houston, Texas, formerly of Benton Harbor, passed on to the Kingdom of Heaven after a long illness, on Saturday, June 17, 2006. A Celebration of Life Service will be held 11:00 A.M., Saturday, June 24, 2006, with visitation one hour prior to the service at Kerley-Starks & Menchinger Family Funeral Home, 2650 Niles Rd., St. Joseph. Burial will be in North Shore Memory Gardens, Coloma. Those wishing to share a memory or sign the guestbook online may do so at www.starks-menchinger.com Lisa was born in Benton Harbor, Michigan on September 7, 1963, to Mack and Valrea (Brooks) Forest, Jr. A graduate of Michigan State University with a Bachelor of Arts Degree, Lisa also studied in France at the Sorbonne. After teaching in Michigan for 4 years, Lisa moved to Houston in 1991. Lisa was a dedicated teacher in the Houston ISD for 15 years, and touched the lives of thousands of students. As part of working at Community Services School, Lisa helped the most troubled students achieve for over 8 years. She also worked on the Freedmon Town project for several years. Lisa was preceded in death by her parents, Valrea and Mack Forest; and brother Mack Forest, III, leaving to cherish her fond memories, her grandmother Vera Brooks, brothers Paul Adams, and Keith Davis; sisters LaRisa Forest Williams, Rosemary (Stephen) Brewer, and Debra (Darrell) Favors, God-mother Lesten Alston, God-sisters Olivia Alston and Ona Alston Dosunmu, God-brothers Omar and Oliver Alston; Aunts Verita Pullins of Seattle, Washington, and Vadonna Jackson of Watervliet, Michigan; uncle Vance (Lynn) Brooks; and a host of cousins, nieces, nephews, and friends.
