Debra's Obituary

Debra Ann Williams, 44, of St. Joseph, passed away April 21, 2006 at Lakeland Hospital, St. Joseph. A Celebration of Life Service will be held at 11:00 A.M. on Tuesday, April 25, 2006 at First Presbyterian Church, 475 Green St., Benton Harbor, with Rev. Doug Petersen officiating. Visitation will be held on Monday, April 24, from 6-8 P.M. at the funeral home. Those wishing to send a condolence on-line may do so at www.starks-menchinger.com. Memorials may be made to the Epilepsy Foundation of Michigan. Debra was born June 21, 1961 in Norfolk, Virginia to Jim & Betty (Ramey) Jones. She was a 1979 graduate of Fairbanks High School, in Marysville, OH and attended two years of tech-school in Plain City, OH. On Valentine’s Day, 1987 she married her Valentine Steve Williams. Debra loved her life and enjoyed participating in many activities such as sports, crafts, gardening, and music. In high school, she ran on the track team and played flute in the marching band. She was very creative and enjoyed painting and playing guitar with her husband. She was a beautiful spirit who will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her. Besides her husband, Debra is survived by her children Ashley Green of Chicago, Angelina & John Williams of St. Joseph; her step-son Justin Williams of Cleveland OH; her mother and step-father Betty & Scott Black; her sisters – Terry Decker, of Columbus, OH and Jody Decker of Tampa, FL; her brothers – Kelly Decker and Pat (Wendy) Decker both of Jeffersonville, OH and Mike Decker of Columbus, OH; her parents-in-law Alex & Ann Williams of Phoenix, AZ; her grandmothers Constance Ramey of Marysville, OH and Edith O’Harro of California plus many aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, and cousins.
