Jason's Obituary

Jason A. Nelson, 29, of St. Joseph died Friday night, April 21, 2006, in Benton Harbor due to a motorcycle accident. He was a loyal husband and a dedicated father Friends may call from 5 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at Kerley-Starks & Menchinger funeral Home, 2650 Niles Road, St. Joseph. A celebration of life service will be held at 10 a.m. Wednesday at Safe Harbor Church of God of Prophecy, 3552 Pipestone Road, Sodus; officiating will be the Revs. Donald and Deborah Parton. Burial will follow in Riverview Cemetery in St. Joseph. Memorials may be made to the Nelson Family, in care of Chase Bank. Friends wishing to send a condolence message may do so in the guest book at www.starksmenchinger.com Jason was born on Feb. 16, 1977, at Camp Lejuene, N.C., to Rex and Chalaine (Carlson) Nelson. He graduated from St. Joseph High School and was the owner of New Wave Construction. On Feb. 6, 1999, he married Alanna Beasley at Safe Harbor Church in Sodus. Jason was a member of the Rough Riders Motorcycle Club, and a soccer coach for the Lakeshore Youth League. He loved playing his drums and jet skiing. He is survived by his loving wife, Alanna, three sons, Shawn, Shane and Eian, and a daughter, Elizabeth, all at home; sister, Carrie Nelson of St. Joseph; mother, Chalaine Nelson of St. Joseph; father, Rex Nelson of Benton Harbor; mother-in-law, Delora Sill, and father-in-law David Sill of Benton Harbor, father-in-law, Larry Beasley of Raleigh, N.C.
