Willie Mae (Robinson) King, 91, of Benton Harbor, passed away Tuesday, April 11, 2006 at home.
A Celebration of Home Going will be held at 11:00 A.M. Thursday, April 23, at Ebenezer Missionary Baptist Church, 214 E. Britain Ave., Benton Harbor, with Rev. Walter Brown officiating. Burial will follow at North Shore Memory Gardens, Coloma. A Wake will be held from 10:00 A.M. until 11:00 A.M. Thursday at the church. Memorials may be made to Borgess VNA & Hospice. Mrs. King was born July 31, 1914 in Marks, Mississippi to Silas & Lela Robinson. In September of 1939, she married George Walter King in Mississippi. To this blessed union were born four children, Phineelasteen “Barbara” McKenzie of Benton Harbor, George L. King of Los Angelos, CA, Ernestine King of Benton Harbor, and Harry Forster of Benton Harbor. Willie Mae is also survived by twenty-four grandchildren; forty-two great-grandchildren; twenty great-great-grandchildren; and a brother Charlie D. Robinson of W. Memphis, Arkansas. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, two brothers-Frankie Donnerson & Bular Jackson, and two sisters-Laura Rice & Maggie Jones.
Mrs. King was a member of Ebenezer Missionary Baptist Church and enjoyed participating in church activities. She loved her family, especially her grandchildren, and enjoyed family gatherings and cookouts.
