Mary's Obituary
Mary Kolesar, 84, of St. Joseph, MI, passed away on Friday, April 14, 2006, at Lakeland Hospital, St. Joseph, MI. Arrangements have been entrusted to Kerley-Starks & Menchinger Family Funeral Home, St. Joseph, MI.
Mary was born May 8, 1921, in Glassmere, PA, to Frank and Magdeline (Horvath) Kolesar. She was a fun-loving gal who owned and worked her blueberry farm, managed the printing press at Mary’s City of David, and also delivered the local newspaper. Mary played on Superior Steel Baseball Team, was an avid bowler and sportsman winning many state championships. She also loved to travel the world. Most of all, Mary loved her family, and will be greatly missed.
A Celebration of Life Service will be on Thursday, April 20, 11:00a.m., at St. Bernard’s Catholic Church, 555 Delaware, Benton Harbor, MI, with Father William Jacobs, Jr. officiating. Burial will follow at Crystal Springs Cemetery, Benton Harbor, MI. Visitation will be on Wednesday, April 19, from 6:00-8:00 p.m., at Kerley-Starks & Menchinger Family Funeral Home, 2650 Niles Rd., St. Joseph, MI. Memorial contributions may be made to the City of David, of which she was a member. Mary is survived by a niece, Janet (Vernon) Blakeman of Benton Harbor, MI; and several other great nieces and nephews; her beloved dog Dovie and her friend Betty Lingle. Her parents-Frank and Magdeline, her two brothers Frank and Julius, and two nephews-Frank, Jr. and Barry Kolesar, preceded her in death.
