Donald's Obituary
Donald L. Smith, 84, formerly of Dowagiac, passed away, Thursday, July 25, 2013 at Silverbrook Manor in Niles.
Graveside services will be held 3:00 P.M. Wednesday, conducted by the Pokagon Band of Potawatomi Indians at Sacred Heart of Mary Cemetery in Dowagiac, with burial to follow. Donald was born June 27, 1929 in Eau Claire, Michigan to Fremont & Edna (Wesaw) Smith. He was an area resident to most of his life, employed in the printing industry. Don served his country in the United States military. He was a member of the Dowagiac VFW, enjoyed following the Detroit Tigers, reading western novels, and watching Lawrence Welk.
Donald is survived by his children-Daniel Smith of Three Rivers, MI, John Montano of St. Saint Marie, MI; several grandchildren; and special friends-Debbie Reeves and Mickey Reeves of Dowagiac & Barb & Don Myers of Dowagiac.
