Thomas D. Johnson

Thomas D. Johnson, 70, of Dowagiac, MI, passed away, July 18, 2013, at Borgess Hospital, Kalamazoo MI. Thomas was born August 18, 1942, to Harry Thomas & Winnie Faye (Stubblefield) Johnson. He followed his passion and worked as a computer programmer with General Motors then at Electronic Data Systems. On August 14, 2010, he married his wife, Donna (Etter) Johnson, in Berrien Center, MI. Thomas loved both working on computers and playing games on them, and he enjoyed listening to Western stories, listening to country music, and cheering on the Redwings and Tigers. Thomas served as president for the Clawson’s Lions Club. He is survived by his wife, Donna Johnson, his children, Leo Johnson, Dowagiac, MI, Nancy (Dave Leski) Wilson of Dowagiac, MI, Daren (Leanna) Iser, of Grand Rapids, MI; Kerry (Keith) Herter, of Dowagiac, MI, and eight grandchildren. Thomas was preceded in death by his parents, Harry & Winnie Faye Johnson. A Celebration of Life Service will be held on Sunday July 21 at 3 P.M at Yazel & Clark Chapel, 405 Center St. Dowagiac, MI. Friends & family may visit from 1 to 3 P.M prior to the service at the funeral home on Sunday. A private family burial will follow at a later date.
