Johnny B. Miller, 69, of St. Joseph, passed away Thursday, May 11, 2006 at Lakeland Hospital in St. Joseph. A Celebration of Life Memorial Service will be held at a later date. Memorials may be made to Crystal Conference Center in care of Riverview Park Christian Church, St. Joseph. Starks & Menchinger Family Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements. Those wishing to share a memory or sign the guest book online may do so at www.starks-menchinger.com.Mr. Miller was born July 18, 1936 in Rives, Missouri to Eddie & Annie (Davis) Miller. On June 18, 1960, he married the former Kathryn Weed in Dowagiac. Johnny was employed by the city of St. Joseph, in the public works department, retiring in 1994 after 25 plus years of employment. He was a member of Riverview Park Christian Church, and the WCA, both in St. Joseph. Johnny was an avid outdoorsman who enjoyed hunting, fishing, and nature in general. He also enjoyed reading and country music, but most important was his family, especially his children and grandchildren. Johnny is survived by two daughters-Kathy Crowe of Sommerset, KY, Sherry (Artur) Piotrowski of Eau Claire; two grandchildren-Lindsey Kilgore, James Johansen; and three brothers-Kenneth (Lois) Miller of Coloma, Robert Miller of Benton Harbor, and Gene Miller of Terry, Mississippi. He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife Kathryn on May 28, 2005, by his sister Flora Rice, and by five brothers-Harvey, Sam, Ray, Bill & David Miller.
