Emmy's Obituary
Emmy Rein, 76, of Benton Harbor, passed away on Saturday, January 28, 2006, at Lakeland Specialty Hospital in Berrien Center. A Celebration of Life Service will take place on Tuesday, January 31, 2006, at 11:00 A.M., at Peace Lutheran Church, 3590 Lincoln Ave., St. Joseph, with Rev. Franz Brandenburg officiating. Friends may visit with the family on Monday, January, 30, 2006, from 6:00 to 8:00 P.M., at Kerley- Starks & Menchinger Family Funeral Home, 2650 Niles Rd., St. Joseph. Memorial donations may be made to Peace Lutheran Church. Friends may send the family a condolence message or sign the guest book on-line at www.starks-menchinger.com. Emmy was born to Frederick “Otto” and Friedel (Heimann) Stutzenberger on July 13, 1929, in Germany. She attended high school and trade school in Germany. Emmy married Harold Rein in Germany when he was in the service and he preceded her in death on October 24, 1997. She worked for V.M. Corporation in Benton Harbor for ten years when she moved to the United States. Emmy was one of the original founding members of the D.A.N.K. Emmy is survived by her mother, Friedel; children- Klaus (Karen) Rein of St. Joseph, Silvia (Ken) Ryno of Benton Harbor, and Monika (Dave) Gorske of St. Joseph; grandchildren Marcus (Aimee) Dietz, Bryan Dietz, Kim Rein and her friend Brad German, Kris (Tonya) Rein, Erick Gorske, and Matthew Gorske; great-grandchildren- Mackenzie Dietz, Ashley Rein, and Makenna Rein; sister Waltraud Peters; and special neighbor Bill Cary of Benton Harbor. Emmy was preceded in death by her father, Frederick and brother, Otto Stutzenberger.
