Joseph M. Gould

Joseph was born on November 20, 1917 and raised in Chicago, IL. On September 16, 1939, he was united in marriage to LaDema Stelmasiak at Holy Maternity of Mary Catholic Church in Dowagiac, MI. Joe is survived by his wife LaDema, granddaughters Lori Schur of Mishawaka, IN and Julie (Kerry) Smith of Osceola, IN, a son-in-law Lenard Schur of Niles, MI, a sister Mildred Loebach of St. Joseph, MI, and a brother E.J. (Earl) Gould of Lagrange, IN, also several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his daughter, Joyce (Gould) Schur. Joe & LaDema were owners of Gould’s Department Store in Cassopolis, MI. Joe proudly served his country as a Seabee with the Navy during WWII. A Memorial Mass will be celebrated at 1:30pm, Thursday, June 27, 2013, at St. Ann Catholic Church, 421 N. Broadway St., Cassopolis, MI. There will be time for a luncheon and fellowship immediately following the Mass. Burial will be held at a later date. Memorials may be made to St. Ann Catholic Church.
