Robert W. Mueller

Robert W. Mueller, 73 of St. Joseph passed away in the presence of his family to be with his Lord and Savior on January 16, 2006 at Lakeland Hospital, St. Joseph, Michigan. Visitation for Bob will be at Kerley-Starks & Menchinger, Friday, January 20 from 5:00-8:00 PM. Services will be held at Kerley-Starks & Menchinger at 10:00 AM Saturday, January 21st, graveside service will follow at Riverview Cemetery, St. Joseph. Memorial donations may be made to Trinity Lutheran Church St. Joseph, or the Humane Society of Berrien County. He was born on March 23, 1932 in Milwaukee WI to Frederick and Alma (VonDerOsten) Mueller and married Louise (Ihrke) who survives. The couple was married April 14, 1956 and would have celebrated their 50th anniversary this year. He is a veteran of the Korean War, and after serving his country began his 34 year career with Harnischfeger Corporation, Milwaukee WI. They relocated to St. Joseph in 1962. He was a loving husband, father, and grandfather who enjoyed the outdoors while hunting, fishing, boating and snowmobiling. He also dearly loved German Shepherds, playing cards and spending time with his family and friends.In addition to his wife, Louise, survivors include three children, Jeanne (Bill) Strine of St. Joseph, Robert (Debbie) Mueller of Stevensville, and David (Debbie) Mueller of Stevensville; his treasured grandchildren, Kristi (Dave) DeVore of Rochester Hills, MI , Steve Strine of St. Joseph, Lance and Lora Mueller, Stevensville three sisters-in-law, several nieces and nephews, special family friends Jamie Schultz and Donna & Jerry Pechtel, as well as his German Shepherd companion-Lady. He was preceded in death by his parents; a sister, Dorothea Ehlers, and brothers John and Fred Mueller.
