Paul's Obituary
Paul Baginske, 88, of Baroda, passed away on Monday, February 27, 2006, at Lakeland Specialty Hospital in Berrien Center. A Celebration of Eternal Life Service will be held on Saturday, March 4, 2006, at 10:00 A.M., at Kerley-Starks & Menchinger Family Funeral Home, 2650 Niles Rd., St. Joseph, with Rev. Gerald Schroer officiating. Burial will follow in Lincoln Township Cemetery in Stevensville. Friends may visit with the family on Friday, March 3, 2006, from 5:00 to 8:00 P.M., at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to St. Paul’s Evangelical Lutheran Church, Stevensville. Friends may send the family a condolence message on-line at www.starks-menchinger.com. Paul was born to Martin and Helen (Schiemann) Baginske on September 15, 1917, in St. Joseph. Paul served his country in World War II as part of the Army 327th Harbor Craft Divi. in Charleston, S.C. He married Lorraine Mensinger on July 10, 1942 in Bridgman. He owned Baginske Fisheries and was a Commercial Fisherman until 1971. He retired from Garey Roofing in 1979. After retirement he still enjoyed fishing, gardening and was a member of the Stevensville American Legion Post # 568. Paul is survived by his wife Lorraine; a daughter, Shirley (August) Zielke of Baroda; a son, Larry (Kathy) Baginske of Stevensville; grandchildren, Barbara (Vytas) Sukys, James (Lisa) Zielke, Tiffany (Joseph) Rydwelski, Lisa Baginske, and Michelle Baginske; great-grandchildren, Victoria, Synthia, Katherine, Vytas II, and Tony Sukys, Mallory, Joshua, and Michaela Zielke, and Samantha Rydwelski; a brother, Fred Baginske of St. Joseph; and a sister, Jean Bowen. Paul was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Walter Baginske and Robert Baginske; and sisters, Hilda Bessette and Ann Mulhern.
