Madeline V. Giambalvo, 80, of Coloma, passed away Friday, December 9, 2005 at Lakeland Specialty Hospital, Berrien Center.Private family Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at St. Joseph Catholic Church, St. Joseph with Fr. Christian Johnston officiating. Entombment will follow at North Shore Memory Gardens, Coloma. Memorials may be made to Lakeland Continuing Care Center-Berrien Center. Those wishing to share a memory or sign the guest book online may do so at www.starks-menchinger.com. Mrs. Giambalvo was born June 7, 1925 in Chicago to Charles & Mary (Rinella) Mangano. She graduated from Austin High School in Chicago in 1943. On October 20, 1946 she married James C. Giambalvo in Chicago. The family spent many weekends in the Coloma area before making that their permanent residence in 1984 following Mr. Giambalvo’s retirement. Madeline was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church in St. Joseph. She enjoyed spending time with her family and preparing meals for them. She was an exceptional cook. Mrs. Giambalvo is survived by her sons-James S. Giambalvo of River Grove, IL, Ronald W. (Jenny) Giambalvo of Naperville, IL; her daughter in law Rosemarie Giambalvo of Sycamore, IL; five grandchildren-James, Leslie, Jaime, Ronald & Gina Giambalvo; and numerous nieces & nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband James on December 24, 1986, her sister Rose Corvo; her brother Vincent Mangano; and her canine companions Sammie & Tee Dee.
