Thelma's Obituary
Thelma (Nickel) Voth, 93, formerly of Benton Harbor, passed away, Wednesday, March 8, 2006 at Community Northview, in Anderson, Indiana.
A Celebration of Life Service will be held at 1:30 P.M. Monday at Kerley-Starks & Menchinger Family Funeral Home, 2650 Niles Rd., St. Joseph with Rev. Robert Moss officiating. Burial will follow at Riverview Cemetery, St. Joseph. Friends may call beginning at 1P.M. Monday at the funeral home. Mrs. Voth was born April 4, 1912 in Saskatchewan, Canada, to Peter & Lydia (Buller) Nickel. She retired in 1974 from the dietary department of Memorial Hospital in St. Joseph. Thelma moved to Anderson following the death of her husband David in 1981. Thelma was a former member of the First Church of God in St. Joseph, and attended the East Side Church of God and the Southdale Church of the Nazarene in Anderson.
Thelma is survived by her children, Orlow (Myra)Voth of St. Joseph, Charlene Wood of Anderson, Marilyn (Gary) Judson of Monrovia, IN; brother Hartley (Margaret) Nickel of St. Joseph; sisters Gladys Berger of Illinois and Loretta (Richard) LaPoint of Wisconsin; six grandchildren-Michael Voth, Christine Host, Thomas Voth, Gregory Wood, Jennifer Caldwell, Stanley Judson; eight great-grandchildren; and several nieces & nephews.
In addition to her husband, Thelma was preceded in death by her parents, a daughter Sandra Jean Voth in 1952, a sister Fern Smith, and two brothers-in-law and one sister-in-law.
