Savannah Green

Savannah Georgia Green, 89, of St. Joseph, MI, died on Friday, December 30, 2005.A Celebration of Life Service will be held on Monday, January 2, 2:00 p.m., at Kerley-Starks & Menchinger Family Funeral Home, 2650 Niles Rd., St. Joseph, MI, with Minister Rusty Stark officiating. Visitation will precede the service from 1:00 p.m to 2:00 p.m., at the funeral home. Burial will follow at North Shore Memory Gardens, Coloma, MI. Family asks memorial contributions be made to the Church of Christ, Benton Harbor, MI, of which she was a member. Savannah was born September 3, 1916, in Searcy, Arkansas, to William and Nancy (Roy) West. In 1941, in Benton Harbor, MI, she married Joseph Green. He preceded her in death in 1972. She had worked at Clean Towel Service of St. Joseph, MI. Savannah is survived by her children, Beverly (Edward) LaBounty of Mt. Pleasant, MI, Delores (William) Crossman of St. Joseph, Hertha Hart of Benton Harbor, and Leonard Green of St. Joseph; a sister, Lola (George) Hamlett of Benton Harbor; eight grandchildren; twelve great grandchildren; and two great great grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her parents-William and Nancy West; her husband-Joseph; a son-David; and two sisters-Opal Selvidge and Rozella Woods.
