Jennie's Obituary

Jennie Alice Mae Daisy, 100, of Coloma, MI, went home to be with her Lord and Savior, Friday, November 25, 2005. A Celebration of Life Service will be held on Tuesday, Nov. 29, 10:00 a.m., at Kerley-Starks & Menchinger Family Funeral Home, 2650 Niles Rd., St. Joseph, MI, with Rev. J. Dean Pickett officiating. Burial will follow at North Shore Memory Gardens, Coloma, MI. Visitation will be on Mon., November 28, from 5:00-8:00 p.m., at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of South Haven, or to the First Church of the Nazerene, St. Joseph, MI. Jennie was born August 13, 1905, in Winamac, IN, to William and Sara Elizabeth (Shellheart) Galbreath. She married Lawrence Earl Daisy in 1947, in St. Joseph, MI. She owned and operated Alice Mae Beauty Shop in Dowagiac, MI, for twenty years. Jennie was a member of the First Church of the Nazerene, St. Joseph, MI. She was a devout Sunday school attendee, was known as the ‘candy lady’ in church, and was proud to have read the bible from beginning to end more than fifty times. Jennie loved the outdoors, especially working in her flower garden. She was a loving and caring mother, grandmother, great grandmother, and friend, and will be greatly missed. She is survived by her daughter, Violet (Sid) Stark of Coloma, MI; six grandchildren; many great grandchildren; and many nephews and nieces. Preceding her in death are her parents-William and Sara, her husband-Lawrence, two daughters-Alice Penrod and Patricia Burns, a granddaughter, and four brothers and two sisters.
