Cynthia Jo Tichenor, 56, of St. Joseph, passed away Thursday, February 02, 2006 at her home. A Celebration of Life Service will be held at 3:00 P.M. Saturday at Kerley-Starks & Menchinger Family Funeral Home, 2650 Niles Rd., St. Joseph with Fr. William Jacobs, Jr. officiating. Burial will follow at North Shore Memory Gardens, Coloma. Friends may call from 1:00-3:00 P.M. at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to Hospice at Home or Berrien County Cancer Service. Those wishing to share a memory or sign the guest book online may do so at www.starks-menchinger.com. Cindy was born June 2, 1949 in Benton Harbor to Robert & Josephine (Pullano) Kimball. She attended St. Joseph Catholic High School, graduating in 1967. On May 12, 1979, she married James Tichenor in St. Joseph. Cindy was employed as an LPN at Lakeland Hospital for the last 38 years, working 35 of those years in the ER. Cindy was a member of St. Bernard-St. John Parish in Benton Harbor. She was a hard working lady, who volunteered as a mentor with Benton Harbor Schools. Cindy loved every moment she could spend with her children, and also had a love of lighthouses. Cindy is survived by two sons-Jeff Tichenor & Joel Tichenor both of St. Joseph; her daughter Julie Tichenor of St. Joseph; three sisters-Barbara (James) Dumke of Stevensville, Bonnie (Mark) Soper of Traverse City, and Robin (Jesse) Benjamin of Kalamazoo;her mother-in-law Corine Tichenor of St. Joseph and several nieces & nephews. She was preceded in death by her father Robert Kimball on August 4, 1999, her mother Josephine Kimball on November 16, 2005, and her husband James on October 20, 2005.
