Doris M. Capicotte

Doris Marie Capicotte, 67, of Berrien Springs, passed away Saturday, February 18, 2006, in her home. A Celebration of Life Service will be held Friday, February 24, 2006 at 3:00 P.M. at Kerley-Starks & Menchinger Family Funeral Home, 2650 Niles Road, St Joseph, with Pastor Bruce Hayward officiating. Burial will be private at a later date. Friends wishing to visit with the family may do so Thursday evening between 6-8 P.M. and again at 2:00 P.M. Friday at the funeral home. She was the daughter to Elmer and Ora Mae Norman. She was extremely proud of her son Kevin and delighted in spending time with her grand-daughter Sydney. Doris taught for over 30 years in the elementary school system for the Seventh-day Adventist Church within the Illinois Conference. She was both a mother and a friend to her many students through the years. Doris is survived by her son Kevin (Anita) of Fort Wayne, IN; her grand-daughter, Sydney; 3 brothers, Kenneth (Esther) Norman of Fort Piece, FL, Don (Lorraine) Hilliard of Niles, David (Debbie) Hilliard of South Bend; 3 sisters, Betty Fleenor and Anna Norman, both of Berrien Springs, and Bonnie (Bill) Berry of Jonesboro, AR; sister-in-law Joanne Teller of Ottumwa, IA; and numerous nieces and nephews and extended family. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by 2 brothers, Richard Norman and Danny Hilliard; and her sister, Barbara Banes.
