Wilson Ray Mcdowell

Wilson R. McDowell of Bridgman died Monday, October 24, 2005, at Lakeland Hospital, St. Joseph, Michigan. Wilson was born October 25, 1916, in Bunker Hill, Indiana, to Caddie (Wilson) and Ray McDowell. On November 17, 1936, he married Betty Jane Lamb, who survives along with their daughter, Bonnie and her husband, Martin Dawson, and one son, Ross McDowell of Benton Harbor. Wilson also is survived by one sister, Pauline Berry of Kokomo, Indiana, three grandchildren, two great-grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his son Michael. Wilson served with the U. S. Army during WW II. He worked in the electrical contracting business and was a retired partner in Mead and White Electric, Bridgman. Cremation has taken place. Private services will be held at a later date. Arrangements have been entrusted to Kerley-Starks & Menchinger Family Funeral Home, St. Joseph. Wilson enjoyed hunting and fishing at the family farm in the Upper Peninsula. He will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him. Memorials in his name may be made to the Berrien County Cancer Service.
