John's Obituary

John Herman Hauch, 78, of St. Joseph went to be with the Lord on November 24, 2005, at the Caretel Inns of St. Joseph, after a short battle with cancer. A funeral service celebrating his life will be held at 11:30 A.M., Tuesday November 29, 2005, at Peace Lutheran Church, 3590 Lincoln Ave. and Maiden Lane, St. Joseph, with Rev. Paul Koehneke officiating. Burial will follow in Riverview Cemetery, St. Joseph. The family will receive relatives and friends from 4 – 8 P.M., Monday, 28, 2005, at Kerley-Starks & Menchinger Family Funeral Home, 2650 Niles Rd., St. Joseph. John was born on September 13, 1927, in Glendora, Michigan to Ludwig “Louie” and Marie (Hebner) Hauch. He has been a lifelong resident of the area. John served his country as a Veteran of the United States Army in World War II. He retired from Whirlpool Corporation in 1987. John was an active member of Peace Lutheran Church. John is survived by his son, Glenn (Valorie) Hauch of Moab, Utah, his daughter, Janet (Dennis) Lietz of Elkhart, Indiana; three grandchildren- Neil Hauch, Matthew Sernau, and Kelly Sernau; two sisters- Elsie Boganwright of Dowagiac and Helen Dunn of FL; and special son-in-law Gerry Sernau. John was preceeded in death by his wife, Lillian Rose (Klatt) in 2003, whom he married on April 15. 1950, at St. Matthew’s Lutheran Church in Benton Harbor; his parents; sister, Huldina; and brother Fred.
