Betty Jane Schultz, 82 of St. Joseph passed away Tuesday, January 24, 2006 at her home. A Celebration of Life Service will be held 9:30 A.M. Saturday, January 28, 2006 at Zion Evangelical United Church of Christ with Rev. Terry Tessari officiating. Burial will follow in Riverview Cemetery. Friends may call on Friday, January 27, from 5-8 P.M. at Kerley-Starks & Menchinger Family Funeral Home, 2650 Niles Road, St. Joseph. Memorials in her name may be made to Zion Ev. Betty Jane was born February 24, 1923 in Benton Harbor to Delos and Ethel (Sutherland) See. She was a 1941 graduate of Benton Harbor High School. On April 18, 1946, she married her husband, Henry C. Schultz in St. Joseph. Betty Jane was a devoted mother and grandmother whose passion was her family. As a cook, she was unequalled in excellence. She also enjoyed reading. Betty Jane was an active, faithful member of her church and its Ladies Guild as well as managing time for the Alpha Theta Sorority. She was a gentle soul who loved animals, especially her cat, Angel. Betty Jane is survived by her daughters Debra (Jim) Clark of Stevensville, Deanna (Dr. David) Driscoll of St. Joseph; her grandchildren Heather (Capt. Robert) Schneider of Pinehurst, NC, Christy Clark of Stevensville, Kelly Driscoll of Orlando, FL, Katie Driscoll and Becky Driscoll both of St. Joseph; her special friends Mike & Alice Payovich of Benton Harbor. Betty Jane was preceded in death by her husband Henry on November 2, 1980, her father and step-mother Delos & Mabel See and her mother and step-father Ethel & Harry Metzger.
