Frank E. Curtis

Frank Edwin Curtis, 83, of St. Joseph, passed away Tuesday, January 17, 2006, at Golden Place, St. Joseph. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated 10:00A.M., Thursday, January 19, 2006, at St. Joseph Catholic Church, 211 Church St., St. Joseph, with Msgr. Thomas Martin officiating. Cremation will follow. According to Frank’s wishes, there will be no visitation prior to the Mass. Arrangements are entrusted to Kerley-Starks & Menchinger Family Funeral Home, 2650 Niles Rd., St. Joseph. Memorial donations may be made in Franks name to Hospice at Home, Humane Society, or Lake Michigan Catholic School Fund. Those wishing to share a memory or sign the guest book online may do so at www.starks-menchinger.com. Frank was born on December 13, 1922, in La Porte, Indiana to Harry A. and Florence E. (Russell) Curtis. On August 16, 1947 he married Daisiana Barnes, who survives. Frank was an Engineer at Whirlpool Corporation, retiring in 1987, after 26 years. Previous to that he was with Allis Chalmers Manufacturing Co., in La Porte, and Chance Vought, Dallas, TX. Frank is survived by his wife Daisiana; daughters Patricia (William) Baushke of Clarksville, TN, Nancy (Steven) Howell of Portage, and Suzanne (David) Block of St. Joseph; and seven grandchildren – Ryan and Curtis Baushke, Rachel Block, Michael, Melissa, Meghan and Emily Howell. Frank was dearly loved and will be greatly missed by all.
