Scott D. Rose

Scott D. Rose, 42, of Stevensville, passed away on Saturday, November 5, 2005, at his home.Friends may call on Thursday, November 10, 2005, from 2:00 to 4:00 P.M., at Kerley- Starks & Menchinger Family Funeral Home, 2650 Niles Rd., St.Joseph. Memorial contributions may be made to the family. Scott was born January 17, 1963 the youngest son of Darwin “Mike” and Delores (Hoffius) Rose. Scott spent the last twenty years traveling the country while working as a Health and Safety Officer. On January 12, 2001, Scott married his best friend Mary Rylant in Ocho Rios, Jamaica. Scott was a proud member of the Berrien Springs American Legion Post # 85. Scott loved to fish and he did so every spare minute he had. He always had a couple of fishing poles with him no matter where he was. He was the kindest, gentlest, most loving man you could ever meet. Scott had a way of uplifting all of us with his happy zest for life. Scott leaves to cherish his memory his adoring wife Mary; step-daughter Jessica (Eric) Clark of Benton Harbor; step-sons CPL Joshua Rylant stationed in New River, N.C. and Jacob Bolin of Stevensville; father Darwin “Mike” Rose of St. Joseph; brothers Chris Rose and his friend Michelle Laizure of St. Joseph and Stuart (Diane) Rose of Buchanan; sisters Edith (Pat) Sweeney of St. Joseph, Pam Bush of Niles, and Robin Claywell of St. Joseph; two very special grandsons Nathan and Chase Clark and many aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends all across the country. Scott was preceded in death by his loving mother Delores Rose on July 31, 2005.
