Sara Hudson, 87, of Stevensville, passed away on Sunday, November, 6, 2005, at Jordan’s Nursing Home in Bridgman.A Celebration of Life Service will be held at 11:00 A.M., on Tuesday, November 8, 2005, at Kerley-Starks & Menchinger Family Funeral Home, 2650 Niles Rd., St. Joseph. Burial will follow in Crystal Springs Cemetery in Benton Harbor. Friends may visit with the family from 10:00 to 11:00 A.M., on Tuesday at the funeral home. Memorial donations may be made to Area Agency on Aging or Jordan’s Nursing Home. Friends may send the family a condolence message or sign the guest book on-line at www.starks-mencinger.com. Sara was born to Ben and Mary (Coleman) Smith on October 13, 1918, in Munford, Tennessee. She married William Hudson in Memphis, Tennessee, on January 28, 1939. Sara loved to be with her family, read, and walk with friends. Sara is survived by her children- Barbara (Quentin) Ellingson of St. Joseph, Herman Hudson of Naperville, Illinois, Dennis (Janice) Hudson of Lansing, Michigan; six grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren. Sara was preceded in death by her parents; husband William in 1957; three brothers; and two sisters.
