Taleel Lamont Porter, 56 days old, was born to Alphonzo L. Porter and Deanna M. (Hassel) Porter on November 15, 2005 in Benton Harbor, Michigan and departed on Tuesday, January 10, 2006 at Lakeland Hospital in St. Joseph, Michigan. A Celebration of Life service will be held 10:00A.M., Tuesday, January 17, 2006, at Kerley-Starks & Menchinger Family Funeral Home, 2650 Niles Rd., St. Joseph. Visitation is from 9:00 – 10:00A.M., Tuesday, at the funeral home. Burial will follow in Crystal Springs Cemetery, Benton Harbor. Those wishing to send a condolence message online may do so at www.starks-menchinger.com Taleel leaves his loving parents Alphonzo and Deanna; three brothers, Willie Hassel, Alphonzo Porter, Jr., and Devoneir Porter; two sisters, Ebone’ Porter and Lanise Hassel; seven aunts, Nikola Hassel, Traletta Porter, Debra Porter, Candy Martin, Shelia Granger, Linda Ellis and Leisa Ellis; seven uncles, Juan Hassel, Shawndale Porter, Joe Porter, Carl Porter of Milwaukee Wis., Charles Ellis, Jr. of Milwaukee, Wis., Ambrose Ellis and Demario Ellis; two grandmothers, Ramona Hassel and Shirley (Porter) Johnson; two grandfathers, George Henderson and Sidney Norwood; two great-grandmothers, Ruth Hassel and Luzine Ellis; two great god-mothers, Miss Mary Love and Linda Williams; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. He is preceded in death by two great-grandfathers, Willie Hassel and Charles Ellis and a cousin, Ja’niyah Moore, all of Benton Harbor, Michigan.
