Georgia's Obituary

Georgia Peters Hill, 80, of Stevensville, passed away Sunday, February 05, 2006 at Jordan’s Nursing Home, Bridgman. A Celebration of Life Service will be held at 1:00 P.M. Wedensday at Kerley-Starks & Menchinger Family Funeral Home, 2650 Niles Rd., St. Joseph with Fr. Christian Johnston officiating. Burial will follow at North Shore Memory Gardens, Coloma. Friends may call from 5-8 P.M. Tuesday at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to the Alzheimers Association. Those wishing to share a memory or sign the guest book online may do so at www.starks-menchinger.com. Mrs. Hill was born August 13, 1925 in Berrien Springs to George & Mary (McTague) Peters. On February 14, 1944, she married Otto C. Hill, Jr. in Albany, Oregon. Georgia was employed at Heath Company for 24 years. She served on the Stevensville Blossom Queen Committee for 19 years, was a member of the Stevensville American Legion Auxiliary for 30 plus years where she was past-president and served as the poppy sale chairman. Georgia was a member of the St. Joseph Elks #541 Emblem Club for 3 years. She enjoyed camping and yearly trips to Florida. Georgia is survived by her husband Otto C. Hill, Jr.; two sons-Daniel (Lucretia Harvey) Hill of Sarasota, FL, Thomas (Debbie) Hill of Coloma; her daughter Kathryn (Cratis “Tate”) McLaughlin of Sawyer; five grandchildren-Shawn (Cory) McLaughlin, Kevin McLaughlin, Mandy (Rick) Hodge, Dana (Aaron Sliter) Hill, Heather Hill; and four great-grandchildren-Andrew, Brooklynn & Chandler McLaughlin, & Joseph Sliter. She was preceded in death by her parents, her son Otto C. Hill, III on February 20 2005, and by three brothers-Hugh, Kenneth & Ray Bennett.
