Jean L. Shaffer

Jean Lucille Shaffer, 73, of Berrien Center died Tuesday, January 31, 2006, at her home. Friends may call on the family on Saturday, February 11, 2006 from 1:00 – 5:00 P.M., at the home of Michelle Bunn, 92930 Center Dr., Dowagiac, MI 49047. Burial of ashes will be in Union Cemetery in Berrien Township. Arrangements are entrusted to Kerley-Starks & Menchinger Family Funeral Home, 2650 Niles Rd., St. Joseph, MI. In 1952 she graduated at the top of her class as Valedictorian of Niles High School. Jean loved animals and was an avid reader. She worked at Berrien General Hospital as a Nurse’s Aid. Jean is survived by daughters Michelle (Jim) Bunn of Dowagiac, Kimberly (Duane) Neuerberg of South Bend, IN, Marcia Shaffer of Scottsdale, AZ, and son Scott Shaffer of South Bend, IN; seven grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; brother Clarence Hancock of Edwardsburg, MI, and sisters Virginia Mady of South Bend, and Evelyn Jefferies of Reed City, MI. Jean is preceded in death by six brothers and sisters.
