Margaret Ann James

Margaret A. James, 89, of Benton Harbor, MI, formerly of Chicago, passed away Friday, September 9, 2005. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:00 A.M. Monday, September 12, 2005 at St. Joseph Catholic Church, 211 Church St., St. Joseph, MI. Burial will be in Mishawaka, IN. Friends may call Sunday between 3-7 P.M., with the Rosary recited at 6:30 P.M. at Kerley-Starks & Menchinger Family Funeral Home, 2650 Niles Road, St. Joseph, MI. She was one of 17 children born to Peter and Anna Janssen. On her 25th birthday, she married Francis W. James in Chicago. They had one son, William. They formerly lived at 1036 W. Dakin Ave. in the city while her husband was a long time Winnetka police officer. She is survived by her son, Bill (Valerie) James and a granddaughter Emily of Chicago. In addition to her parents, Margaret was preceded in death by her husband, Francis W. James in 2002.
