James C. Mastandrea, 78, of Coloma, passed away Monday, August 08, 2005 at his home. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:30 A.M. Friday at St. Joseph Catholic Church, 211 Church St., St. Joseph with Fr. Donald Wieber officiating. Cremation will follow the services. Friends may call from 4-9 P.M. Thursday at Kerley-Starks & Menchinger Family Funeral Home, 2650 Niles Rd., St. Joseph. Liturgical Prayers will be recited at 6:30 P.M. Thursday at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to North Berrien Senior Center or St. Joseph Catholic Church in Watervliet. Those wishing to share a memory or sign the guest book online may do so at www.starks-menchinger.com. Mr. Mastandrea was born July 30, 1927 in Chicago, IL to Anthony & Nettie (Pacente) Mastandrea. He served his country in the US Air Force during WWII. On June 23, 1951, he married the former Patricia O?Malley in Chicago. Jim retired as a lithographer from Regansteiner Inc. in Chicago in 1987, and made Coloma Michigan his full-time residence soon after. He was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church in Watervliet, and volunteered at North Berrien Senior Center in Coloma. Jim also was an avid hunter. Mr. Mastandrea is survived by his wife Patricia; his son Jim (Jamie) Mastandrea of St. Joseph; two daughters-Janet (David) Farley of Tinley Park, IL, Karen (David) Zdenahlik of Henderson, KY; eight grandchildren-Lisa, Kristopher, Kerri, Jennifer, Matthew, Brittany, Sara, Zack; one great-granddaughter Nicole; and a sister Phyllis (Edward) Trojan of Chicago. He was preceded in death by his parents, and a twin brother Robert Mastandrea in 1987.
