Virginia C. Wyrick, 94, formerly of Benton Harbor and Holiday, Florida, passed away Saturday, September 17, 2005 at Jordan?s Nursing Home in Bridgman. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 10:00 A.M. Wednesday at St. Bernard?s Catholic Church, 555 E. Delaware, Benton Harbor. Burial will follow at North Shore Memory Gardens, Coloma. Friends may call from 5-8 P.M. Tuesday at Kerley-Starks & Menchinger Family Funeral Home, 2650 Niles Rd., St. Joseph with Liturgical Prayers recited at 8:00 P.M. Memorials may be made to The Readiness Center, Lake Michigan Catholic Schools or Jordan?s Nursing Home. Those wishing to share a memory or sign the guest book online may do so at www.starks-menchinger.com. Mrs. Wyrick was born October 6, 1910 in Evansville, Indiana to Frank & Emma (Siefert) Haas. Virginia graduated from the National College of Education in Evanston, Illinois in 1931. She taught school at the elementary level for schools in Evansville, IN, Fairplain, Lakeshore and for St. John?s Catholic School in Benton Harbor. On July 1, 1935 she married Andrew G. Wyrick, Sr. in Evansville, IN. Virginia was a member of Sts. John & Bernard Parish in Benton Harbor, and volunteered for the Ladies Guild. She was the principal & a teacher for CCD. Mrs. Wyrick is survived by her son Andrew (Marilyn) Wyrick of Ft. Myers, Florida; two daughters-Diane (Jack) Lents & Jane (David) Conner, both of St. Joseph; nine grandchildren & twenty-two great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband Andrew Sr. on July 7, 1986, her sister Madeline Hulvershorn, and her brother Frank Haas.
