Irene's Obituary
Irene E. Doane, 92, of Berrien Springs, passed away, Thursday, November 10, 2005 at Lakeland Continuing Care Center-St. Joseph. A Celebration of Life Service will be held 1:00 P.M. Saturday at North Shore Memory Gardens Chapel, Coloma. Memorials may be made to Berrien County Cancer Service or Hospice at Home. Arrangements are entrusted to Kerley-Starks & Menchinger Family Funeral Home, St. Joseph. Those wishing to share a memory or sign the guest book online may do so at www.starks-menchinger.com. Mrs. Doane was born June 22, 1913 in Michigan City, IN to William & Myrtle (Lingle) Wingard. On July 8, 1950 she married Walter Doane in St. Joseph. Irene was a life member of the DAV, and enjoyed fishing, flower gardening and crocheting. Mrs. Doane is survived by her daughter Julia (Frank) Beckman of St. Joseph; three grandchildren-Teresa (Tom) Voss, Brian (Debby) Beckman, Scott (Paige) Beckman; five great-grandchildren; two great-great grandchildren; and two sisters-Evadean Stern of South Haven and Joann Carson of Dowagiac. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Walter in June of 1980, her sister Margaret Hale, and her brother Roy Wingard.
