Betty's Obituary

Emily B. (Hucko) “Betty” Brown, 95, of St. Joseph, passed away on Monday, August 8, 2005, at South Pointe Assisted Living in St. Joseph. A Celebration of Life Service will be held at 1:00 P.M., on Friday, August 12, 2005, at Kerley-Starks & Menchinger Family Funeral Home, 2650 Niles Rd., St. Joseph. Burial will follow in Lincoln Township Cemetery in Stevensville. Friends may call on the family from 5:00 to 8:00 P.M., on Thursday, August 11, 2005, at the funeral home. Memorial donations may be made to the charity of the donor?s choice. Friends may send the family a condolence message or sign the guest book on-line at www.starks-menchinger.com. Betty was born to Martin and Anna (Hrasny) Hucko on October 5, 1909 in Chicago, IL. She worked on assembly lines at Industrial Rubber Corporation in St. Joseph and V-M Corporation in Benton Harbor. Betty was a member of Eastern Star of Coloma and the Friendship Club in Stevensville. She enjoyed traveling and flowers. Betty was the happiest when she was spending time with her grandchildren or gardening. Betty is survived by her son Floyd (Laurice) Hucko of Branch, MI, formerly of Coloma; grandchildren- Shirley (Stan) Lipinski of Mission, TX and Joyce (Mark) Wigent of Benton Harbor; great-grandchildren- Stanley, Laura, and Catherine Lipinski and Valerie and Nicholas Wigent; and six great-great-grandchildren. Betty was preceded in death by her parents; brothers- Paul and Martin Hucko; and sister Anna Barowitz.
