Suzanne R. Allen

Suzanne Rose Allen, 65, of Benton Township died at home Tuesday, July 26, 2005. A Celebration of Life Service will be held at 12:00 P.M., Friday, July 29, 2005, at Kerley-Starks & Menchinger Family Funeral Home, 2650 Niles Rd., St. Joseph, with Rev. Wayne Bell officiating. Burial will follow in Riverview Cemetery, St. Joseph. Visitation is from 10:00 A.M. to 12:00 P.M., on Friday at the funeral home. Memorial donations may be made to Hospice at Home of Stevensville. She enjoyed latch-hook tapestry, jigsaw puzzles, and writing poetry ? holding copyrights on several poems and one song. Suzanne worked for the Herald Palladium in St. Joseph for about 30 years until her retirement in 2003. Suzanne is survived by her sons ? William (Catherine) Allen of Holland, Robert (Mary) Allen of St. Joseph, Christopher (Cathie) Allen of Grandville, Mich., and Timothy (Wendi) Allen of Bellevue, Mich.; six grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; sisters ? Patricia Ashby of Florida, Kay (Mike) Duffy of Florida; brothers Kenneth (Carolyn) Ashby of North Carolina, Bruce Ashby of Irons, Mich.; stepmother Marion Ashby of St. Joseph; and dear friend Kathie Ohme of Benton Harbor, Suzanne was preceded in death by her parents; and longtime friend Keith Sutherland.
