Robert Latty, 72, of Baldwin, MI, formerly of the Stevensville-Baroda area, died August 25, 2005 at his home. A Celebration of Life Service will be held at 2:00 P.M. on Monday, August 29, 2005 at Kerley-Starks & Menchinger Family Funeral Home, 2650 Niles Road, St. Joseph with Dr. Randy Doyle officiating. Burial will follow in North Shore Memory Gardens, Coloma with Military Rites conducted by Stevensville American Legion. Friends may visit with the family on Sunday, August 28 from 6-8 PM at the funeral home. Memorials in his name may be made to the American Heart Association. Those wishing to share a memory or condolence online may do so at www.starks-menchinger.com. Robert was born July 22, 1933 in Battle Creek, MI to Earl & Neva (Hughes) Latty. He proudly served in the US Navy and married his sweetheart, Ruby Jean Mullins, who survives, on May 20, 1954 in Newport News, VA. He was employed as a tool and die maker at Bendix until his retirement in 1987 and lived in the Stevensville-Baroda area until his move to Baldwin 13 years ago. He was a lifetime member of the VFW both in Baldwin and in Stevensville. In addition to his wife, he is survived by three daughters?Carol Latty of Detroit, Elaine (Kenneth) Owens of Glovceter, VA, and Neva Latty of Baldwin, MI; and two sons?Paul (Sue Hall) Latty of St. Joseph, MI, and Earl Latty of Richmond, VA. He is also survived by three brothers?Jim Latty, Rick Latty, Brad (Kathy) Latty and his sister Lois Carol Latty. He was the proud grandfather of 15 grandchildren and 4 great-grandchildren. He was preceded by his great-granddaughter, Jessica Hines.
