Ethel's Obituary

Ethel C. Nitz, 82, passed away on Sunday, Aug. 7, 2005, at Borgess Hospital, Kalamazoo, MI. A Celebration of Life Service will be held on Tuesday, Aug. 9, 1:00p.m., at the Zion United Church of Christ, 9100 Church St., Baroda, MI, with Rev. Chris Nofke officiating. Burial will follow at Ruggles Cemetery, Baroda, MI. Visitation will be on Monday, from 6:00-8:00p.m., at the Kerley-Starks & Menchinger Family Funeral Home, 2650 Niles Rd., St. Joseph, MI. Memorial contributions may be made to the National Crohn’s & Colitis Foundation or to Zion United Church of Christ, Baroda, MI. Friends wishing to sign the family guestbook, or to leave a message of condolence, may do so at www.starks-menchinger.com Ethel was born March 7, 1923, in Bridgman, MI, to Ferdand and Bertha Schultz. She was a member of Zion UCC of Baroda, member of the Ladies Auxillary, and a member of the American Legion of Baroda. She loved her family, especially her grandchildren, and also her many friends. Surviving is her son Carey (Kathy) Nitz of Reading, MI; grandchildren, Autumn (Sequayha) Wright of Allen, MI, Tacy Nitz of Baroda, and Brandon Nitz of Indianapolis, and also Natasha Zielke and Jennifer French; great grandchildren, Zachary, Mason and Desira; sisters, Lone Roth and Bert Cornwell; and her two loving companions, Optimo and Rudy. She is preceded in death by her parents-Ferdand and Bertha, her husband- Walter Nitz, a son-Curtis Nitz, a sister-Clara Zielke, and a brother-Daniel Schultz.
