Beatrice Ann Springer

Beatrice Ann Springer (Barbour) went home to be with the Lord, her parents and many friends, aunts, uncles and cousins on July 16, 2005. She died peacefully at home, surrounded by her family, after a long, courageous battle with cancer. She leaves behind Burch, her husband of nearly 53 years; her daughter Gibby (Greg) Lozeau; her son Bruce (Carla) Springer; her grandchildren, Sarah and Cameron Lozeau, and Jacob Stanton; along with her brother James P. (Jean) Barbour; and many nieces and nephews. B.A. had an unconquerable sense of humor, which remained with her to her last days. She, along with Burch, was very popular with two generations of neighborhood kids, and every dog on the block. She was an accomplished artist, and her paintings have been featured in several area galleries over the years. She will be deeply missed by many, and our grief is tempered by our faith that she now has a new pair of angel wings and is thoroughly enjoying them. A Celebration of Life Service will be held at 10:30 A.M. Wednesday, July 20, at Fairpleain Presbyterian Church, 210 W. Napier, Benton Harbor, with the Rev. Dr. John Munson officiating. Visitation will also be held at the church on Tuesday, July 19, from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. Burial will take place at Ruggles Cemetery at a later date.
