Ursula's Obituary
Ursula B. Wilson, 78, of St. Joseph, passed away Friday, July 8, 2005 at her home, surrounded by the family she loved so much. A Celebration of Life Service will be held at 11:30 A.M. Tuesday, July 12, at Kerley-Starks & Menchinger Family Funeral Home, 2650 Niles Rd., St. Joseph with Dr. Gary Cowall of Saron Lutheran Church officiating. Burial will follow Wednesday at Fort Custer National Cemetery in Augusta, Michigan. Friends may call from 10:00 A.M.?11:30 A.M. Tuesday at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Hospice at Home or the charity of the donor?s choice. Those wishing to share a memory or sign the guest book online may do so at www.starks-menchinger.com. Ursula was born November 9, 1926 in Berlin, Germany to Otto & Berta (Hoffman) Schulz. She met Jack R. Wilson in Germany while he was serving in the US Army, and they were married February 2, 1949 in Darmstadt, Germany. Ursula & Jack moved to the United States, eventually settling in the twin cities area. Ursula was employed at Whirlpool in Benton Harbor, retiring in 1982 after 22 years. Ursula was a people person. She enjoyed cooking & entertaining & just being with people, especially her family. Ursula also enjoyed traveling, having been to Europe, Mexico, South America and various other places. She also loved flowers & small animals. Ursula & Jack spent the winters in Tucson, Arizona where she was a member of the Red Hat Society. Mrs. Wilson is survived by her husband Jack; her daughter Darlene I. Wilson and husband Sherman Ampey of Paw Paw, MI; her sister Renate (Gerd) Luck of Berlin, Germany; and special friends Earlyn & Jim Breeden of Tucson. She was preceded in death by her parents Otto & Berta Schulz.
