Margaret's Obituary
Margaret F. Murphy, 66, of Stevensville, caring and loving mother to Julie and Tami, passed away peacefully at Northwestern Memorial Hospital in Chicago on August 28, 2005 with her daughters and sister at her side. Margaret was courageous in her battle following a liver/kidney transplant 7 months prior.
Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11:00 A.M. Thursday at St. Joseph Catholic Church, 211 Church St., St. Joseph with Msgr. Thomas Martin officiating. Burial will follow at Lincoln Township Cemetery, Stevensville. Friends may call from 4:30 P.M. til 8:00 P.M. Wednesday at Kerley-Starks & Menchinger Family Funeral Home, 2650 Niles Rd., St. Joseph, with the Rosary recited at 7:30 P.M. In lieu of flowers, donation in Margaret?s name will be accepted by American Diabetes Association www.Diabetes.org, American Liver Foundation www.liverfoundation.org, CaringbridgeFoundation www.caringbridge.org. Margaret was born October 8, 1938 in Chicago to Joseph & Dorothy (Thomas) Ferraro. She graduated from Western Michigan University and taught Physical Education for many years. For the last 20 years until her retirement on October 8, 2003, Margaret was employed at Santaniello?s Glenlord Pizzaria in Stevensville. She will be forever remembered for her love of life, contagious smile and the simple pleasures such as: a good Spartan football game, crafts, hobbies, reading and her tremendous love for family and friends.
Margaret is survived by her daughters-Julie Murphy of Palatine, IL, Tamara Murphy of Watertown, MA; her sister Janet Ferraro of Prospect Heights, IL; her brother Joseph (Jeanna) Ferraro of Lansing, MI; brothers-in-law and sisters in law Patrick & Linda Murphy of Eaton Rapids, MI and Ruby & Mike Parker of Gainsville, FL; and many nephews, nieces, and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents.
