James W. Meiser

James life began on January 8, 1943 in Dowagiac, the son of John and Elizabeth (Orris) Meiser. He was united in marriage to the former Theresea “Terry”” Tighe on October 26, 1963 in Niles. He had been employed by Clark Equipment in Buchanan for many years. James enjoyed golf, hunting, fishing anywhere including Lake Erie and in Canada, bowling, NASCAR, and mushroom hunting. His loving family includes his wife of 49 years, Terry Meiser of Dowagiac, daughter Diana (Richard) Wheeler of Decatur, two grandsons Alex and Brandon Wheeler, brothers John (Debby) Meiser and Bruce (Sheryl) Meiser, all of Dowagiac, nieces and nephews Ben Meiser, Jamie Meiser, Taylor Meiser, John A. ( Julie) Meiser, and Stefanie Goretzka, five brothers-in law, five sisters-in law and several nieces and nephews. James passed away on Thursday April 25, 2013 at his home. His family will gather with friends on Monday from 5-8 p.m. at Yazel & Clark Chapel where his funeral service will be held on Tuesday at 11 a.m. led by Father Kevin Covert. He will be laid to rest in Riverside Cemetery. Memorial contributions in his name may be directed to the family in care of Terry.
