Adelaide O. Hammer

Adelaide O. Hammer, 86, of Stevensville, passed away at Woodland Terrace in Bridgman. A Celebration of Life Service will be held at 10:30 A.M. Thursday at Kerley-Starks & Menchinger Family Funeral Home, 2650 Niles Rd., St. Joseph with Rev. Jon Bendewald officiating. Burial will follow at Spring Run Cemetery in Scottdale. Friends may call from 6-8 P.M. Wednesday at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to Trinity Lutheran Church or Animal Aid. On June 28, 1947, she married Kenneth Hammer. Adelaide was a secretary for Pearson Construction, and then for New Products Corporation. She later worked as a hair stylist and most recently took up artistry, painting landscapes, nature & animals. Adelaide was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church in St. Joseph, and a member of the artist?s guild. Mrs. Hammer is survived by her husband Kenneth; several nieces, nephews, and cousins; and special friends-Mike & Terrie Smith of Stevensville. She was preceded in death by her parents; her son David Hammer in 1994 and her brother Charles Sech in 2001.
