Clara B. Blythe

Clara B. Blythe, 88, of Buchanan, passed away on Wednesday, April 27, 2005, at Lakeland Hospital in St. Joseph. A Celebration of Life Service will be held on Saturday, April 30, 2005, at 10:00 A.M., at Kerley-Starks & Menchinger Family Funeral Home, 2650 Niles Rd., St. Joseph with Rusty Stark, minister officiating. Burial will follow in North Shore Memory Gardens in Coloma. Friends may call on the family on Friday, April 29, 2005, from 6:00 to 9:00 P.M. also at the funeral home. Clara was born to George and Mary (Pierce) Shropshire on October 22, 1916, in McHenry, Kentucky. She married George W. Blythe in 1934, and they were married for more then fifty-seven years until he preceded her in death in 1992. Clara worked for Michigan Bell Telephone Company for thirty years as a telephone operator. She married Chester Linville in 1995 and he preceded her in death in 1996. Clara was a member of Benton Harbor Church of Christ all her life where she taught Sunday school and ladies? bible class. She was also a member of Pioneers (telephone retirement group). Clara is survived by her children- Dan (Mary Ann) Blythe of Benton Harbor, Doris Blythe of St. Joseph, Don (Linda) Blythe of Bridgman, and Terry Joe (Debbie) Blythe of Baroda; daughter-in-law Margaret ?Sam? Blythe of Lake Orion, MI; step-children- Reggie (Bob) Leedy, Kay Keefer, and Cindy (Joe) Aviles all of Coloma; sixteen grandchildren; twenty-four great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild. Clara was preceded in death by her parents; first husband George; second husband Chester; son Dale Blythe on December 24, 1992; two brothers; and two sisters.
