Matthew R. Cutter, 84, of Benton Harbor, passed away Saturday, April 16, 2005 at Golden Place in St. Joseph.
Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:00 A.M. Wednesday at St. Bernard?s Catholic Church, 555 E. Deleware, Benton Harbor with Fr. William Jacobs, Jr. officiating. Burial will follow at Calvary Cemetery in Benton Harbor. Friends may call from 5-8 P.M. Tuesday at Kerley-Starks & Menchinger Family Funeral Home, 2650 Niles Rd., St. Joseph with Liturgical Prayers recited at 7:00 P.M. Tuesday. Mr. Cutter was born March 8, 1921 in Benton Harbor to Russell W. & Agnes (Frick) Cutter. He graduated from St. John?s High School in 1938. Matthew served his country in the US Navy during WWII. On June 25, 1949, he married the former Leona ?Lee? Kesterke in Benton Harbor. He retired in 1985 as Marketing Manager with Heath Co. in St. Joseph after thirty plus years of employment. Matthew was a member of St. John-St. Bernard Parish where he served as a Lector & Eucharistic Minister of the parish. He was a member of St. Vincent-DePaul Society. Matthew loved electronics, he was able to fix about anything for family & friends alike. Matthew also enjoyed fishing.
Mr. Cutter is survived by his wife Leona; ?Lee? Cutter; three daughters-Marie Clayton of Stevensville, Suzanne (Kent) Sasinka of Colorado Springs, CO, Carol (Scott) Lennon of Lake Hopatcong, NJ; his son Russell (Kris) Cutter of Dowagiac; eight grandchildren-Lori (Bruce) Cook, Julie Sasinka, Colin Lennon, Kyra Lennon, Emily Cutter, Matthew Cutter, Molly Cutter, Jenna Cutter; four great-grandchildren-Chance Sasinka, Skyler Remy, Maddie Cook, Hayden Cook; one brother-John (Peggy) Cutter of Fayetteville, AK; brother-in-law-Don (Vivian) Kesterke; sister-in-law-Marion (Ralph) Mosher; and cousins Jerry & Elaine Sawatzki.
