Linda's Obituary
Linda Pierce Reasons, 66, of Stevensville, passed away peacefully at home surrounded by her family on July 17, 2005, after a long and courageous battle with breast cancer. She was born December 9, 1938 in Idaho, Ohio. She grew up in Xenia, Ohio and graduated from Ohio University in 1960 with a B.S. in Education. She was a health education teacher before marrying. After taking time off to raise her family, Linda became one of the first employees of Alpha Resources and worked there up until a few years ago. Linda will be deeply missed by her loving family including her husband of 46 years, Dave; her four children, David (Deborah) Reasons of Naperville, Illinois, Fritz (Katie) Reasons of Battle Creek, Melody (Trevor) Ryor of Naperville, Illinois, and Merry Reasons of Denver, Colorado. She is also survived by 8 grandchildren, Benjamin, Sarah, Matthew, Elijah, Jake, Samantha, Eric, and Emma. She will also be missed by her brother Richard (Carol) Pierce of Baltimore, Ohio; her brother-in-law Bruce Gosney of Port Clinton, Ohio; and many nieces and nephews. Linda will be remembered and missed by many wonderful and caring friends. Linda was known for her strength, positive outlook on life, friendliness, and her caring nature. She was a friend to nearly everyone who met her. Her engaging personality was like a beacon, drawing in people all around. Linda ? s courage and fierce strength should be a lesson to us all. Linda loved her garden and flowers, especially planning and planting her numerous containers each spring. She was an avid golfer and belonged to many golf leagues which gave her great joy. She always said a good day was a day spent on the course. She also loved to travel. Linda spent many wonderful vacations in St. Croix building warm and sunny memories of the tropics. She also enjoyed traveling with her family as much as possible. She is preceded in death by her parents, Ben and Bonnie Pierce, of Xenia, Ohio; and a sister, Mary Eleanor, of Grove City, Ohio. Her family will gather to meet friends from 5 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, July 20, at Starks & Menchinger Family Funeral Home. A private memorial service will follow. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be given to Hospice at Home, Inc., 2626 W. John Beers Rd. Stevensville, MI 49127 or Berrien County Cancer Services, 7301 Red Arrow Hwy Stevensville, MI 49127.
