Grace Selter, 78, of St. Joseph, passed away Friday, May 27, 2005 at Lakeland Continuing Care Center, St. Joseph.
Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:00 A.M. Tuesday at St. Joseph Catholic Church, 211 Church St., St. Joseph with Fr. Rob Johansen officiating. Burial will follow at North Shore Memory Gardens, Coloma. Friends may call from 3-5 P.M. Monday at Kerley-Starks & Menchinger Family Funeral Home, 2650 Niles Rd., St. Joseph with the Rosary recited at 5:00 P.M. Memorials may be made to St. Joseph Catholic Church, The Alzheimers Foundation, or Hospice at Home. Mrs. Selter was born May 7, 1927 in Covert, Michigan to John & Pauline (Gargano) Patti. She graduated from Covert High School in 1945. On October 15, 1948 she married Dale Selter in Watervliet, Michigan. Together they owned and operated The Family Restaurant in Watervliet for many years. Later Grace was employed as a waitress at Tosi?s Restaurant for 32 years, retiring in 1990. She was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church in St. Joseph, and in her spare time enjoyed cooking and entertaining family and friends.
Grace is survived by her daughter Paula Benson of St. Joseph; three sons-Ronald Selter of Fort Worth, TX, Joseph (Peggy) Selter of Watervliet, Thomas Selter of Stevensville; three grandchildren-Brad Benson, Amanda Griffin, Eric Griffin; three sisters-Frances Fisher of Grand Rapids, Christine (James) Mitchell of South Haven, Connie (Grover) Smith of Stevensville; one brother Joseph (Arlene) Patti; and many nieces & nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, and her husband Dale on October 7, 1998.
