Mary Personette, 95, of Benton Harbor, passed away April 19, 2005 at home.
Graveside services will be held at North Shore Memory Gardens, Coloma, on Friday, April 22, 2005 at 3:30PM. Visitation will be held from 1-3 PM on Friday, April 22, at Kerley-Starks & Menchinger Family Funeral Home, 2650 Niles Road, St. Joseph. Memorials in Mary?s name may be made to Hospice at Home. Mary was born March 27, 1910, in Rock Island, IL, to Prosper & Sedone (Nunel) DeSlover. In 1931 she married Fred Personette, in South Bend, IN. She enjoyed her rewarding job as a Nurse?s Aide, but raising her family was her passion.
Mary is survived by her children – Helen (Al) Steinke of Benton Harbor, Arlene (Fred Schulz) Bigelow of St. Joseph, Yonda (Roger) Lear of Bridgman, and Carol (Ollen) Baldwin of Niles. She leaves behind a legacy of twenty-one grandchildren, forty great-grandchildren, and ten great-great-grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her husband Fred and six siblings – Prosper, Isadore and August DeSlover, Marie Kalka, Margaret Schelstraete and Irene Geothels.
